Installed v5.5 and now get a similar message...
Illuminate\Database\QueryException : SQLSTATE[HY000] Access denied for user 'homestead'@'localhost' (using password: YES) (SQL: select * from information_schema.tables where table_schema = homestead and table_name = migrations)
mysql Ver 8.0.11
Thanks for the heads up. I will try uninstall and install 5.* :)
Hi. Every time I set up a new Laravel project and use "php artisan migrate" I get this error...
Illuminate\Database\QueryException : SQLSTATE[HY000] The server requested authentication method unknown to the client (SQL: select * from information_schema.tables where table_schema = homestead and table_name = migrations)
I cannot get it to work! Any ideas?
Hi all. Looking for some advice. I've been a PHP developer for around 10 years and am looking to learn Laravel for obvious reasons.
I have written and maintain a company intranet in OOP PHP. When I need to make changes I simply make the edits on my localhost, push to GIT, and then pull from the company's intranet server running Windows Server. All quite simple.
However, before delving full on into Laravel, I would like to know how you go about taking a site developed locally on my Macbook and publish to a Windows Server environment that runs XAMPP. Researching online it all sounds rather complicated and a far cry from my current process of simply pulling from GIT, or indeed just copying updated files onto the server.
Let's say I develop a new module on the intranet, how simple is it to publish? While I can find lots of info and tutorials on how to develop in Laravel, I can find little information on how to work it alongside a production environment.
I'm used to old fashioned ways of simply FTPing files!
