christianTorino left a reply on Laravel Standard Authentication In Different Languages

Hello @mesqueeb, You can use 2 packages that personally i loved for localized project.

The first is https://github.com/mcamara/laravel-localization . It handles for you all the localization staff and in an more advanced configuration you can choose to use localized url or not. The translation can be applied by user choose or detecting the browser language.

The second is https://github.com/barryvdh/laravel-translation-manager. It gives you the possibility to handle to languge files all togethers, thorugh a simple ui.

Give them a look.

christianTorino started a new conversation Join With Polymorphic Relation: No Idea :-(

Hello there, I am in trouble trying to figure out how to insert a polymorphic relation inside a join query.

The idea is that a company has 2 type of event:

    ->inbound (that include some special columns)
        schema: id | name | user_id | desc | etccc

    ->outbound (that include some special columns)
        schema: id | name | user_id | desc | etccc

Sometimes it happens that some tasks must be done in order to complete the events. So the company create a ticket:

    ->ticket: schema:id | urgency | ticketable_id| ticketable_type |

And inside the system some employees assign to themself the task through a feed view.

    ->assignment: schema: id | ticket_id | user_id | data etccc

The problem comes out when in the "list view" a user cannot assign multiple times the same task to itself, so in the list i must see a "magical button" that let or not the user to assign itself the ticket.

If I use eloquent the number of query i very big and now i am trying with ure joins. Performance are much much better but now i cannot insert the polymorphic relation inside of it.

This the current query:

    // get the the list of tickets....
    $demands = DB::table('tickets')->leftJoin(
            // and if present a take the assignment the user has already inserted
            DB::raw('(SELECT * from assignments
                    where assignments.user_id = <USER_ID OF WHO IS LISTING THE TICKETS> )
                    already_assigned'), function ($join) {
            $join->on('tickets.id', '=', 'already_assigned.ticket_id');
        })->join('ticketable','tickets.ticketable_id)---> how can i distinguish from inbound and outbound event?
            ->get();

THe final step will be to iterate and create an extra field with a boolean to indicate if the user can or cannot assign the ticket to itself.

I hope in your help.

Thanks

christianTorino left a reply on Query Large Amount Of Data In MySQL

hello richard, my advise is to try the "slow query" directly into mysql, in order to check if the problem is the query itself.

Usually, when I deal with this kind of problems I use the command "explain", that is a command that show you what actually mysql does performing your query.

You can take a look this.

christianTorino started a new conversation Ux Design Pattern Vs Laravel/vuejs

Hello guys. In last months trying to get the proper code solution for variuos features, I came up with a question I now share with you.

there are 5 major ways (i think) to handle data creation or edit. ->new page (laravel normal workflow) ->one form ( all fields sent ones) ->one post for each field

->modal(laravel or vue workflow) ->one form ( all fields sent ones) ->one post for each field

->same page (inline form like todo app)

I saw in some commercial projects built with laravel that the solution used is often the modal with one form.

But in other famous cases( es facebook) the ways we manage data editing or creating change, base on the type of data we are filling into.

Are there some design patterns that explain the best practices?

christianTorino started a new conversation Inline Svg Color

Hello there, I need some help trying to figure out how to change color of an svg image directly from vue This is my svg ''' '''

I created 3 css classes with 3 different colors:

''' .svg-alert { color: black; fill: currentColor; } .svg-alert-red { color: red; fill: currentColor; }

    .svg-alert-orange {
        color: orange;
        fill: currentColor;
    }

''' I tried those solutions:

  • add class attribute to svg:it works just statically ( ex <svg class="svg-alert" ..../svg>)
  • using computed properties (ex v-bind:class="changecolor")

Both these solutions does not work.

My questions is :

given an inline svg how can i change color based on a parameter ( es status=0,1,2) ?

Thanks you guys.

christianTorino left a reply on Multitable Forms/Inline Editing

Hello Zetecvan, currently I am working on a very similar activity like yours.

I write for you a little example,maybe it can be useful for you.

The key points of the example are:

-handle mouseenter and mouseleave events to intercept the hover effect

-handle the visibility of the edit and show elements trough a property,a method or a computed property.

-remember to make a copy of the original data to a "form variable" and working on that when you "edit". In that way if you "cancel" the edit you have the original data untouched, instead, if you submit the form copy back the form var to the origianl data.

This is the example

christianTorino left a reply on Can't Figure Out How To "cook Vue The Laravel's Way" In Multi-page App

I am in the your same situation. Actually I am able to create a full app in laravel only (plus some jquery or vue as js for every page) or in vue js only ( starting with webpack bundle), but currently I have some difficulties to arrange them together. For example,starting a laravel project from scratch, after different tries I come out with 2 ways. The first is to build up a Spa vue in top of laravel, but i think that is not the best solution. The latter is to mount a global app an then manage the different components inside it. This is mine files. app.js

/**
 * First we will load all of this project's JavaScript dependencies which
 * include Vue and Vue Resource. This gives a great starting point for
 * building robust, powerful web applications using Vue and Laravel.
 */

require('./bootstrap');

/**
 * Next, we will create a fresh Vue application instance and attach it to
 * the page. Then, you may begin adding components to this application
 * or customize the JavaScript scaffolding to fit your unique needs.
 */

// Vue.component('CheckoutForm', require('./components/CheckoutForm.vue'));
 Vue.component('Graph', require('./components/Graph.vue'));
// Vue.component('DynamicForm', require('./components/DynamicForm.vue'));
// Vue.component('List', require('./components/List.vue'));
 Vue.component('WinsGraph', require('./components/WinsGraph.vue'));
// import App from './App.vue';

//...
const app = new Vue({
}).$mount('#app');

(partial view)partial.php

@extends('layouts.app')

@section('content')
    <h1>pes win</h1>
    <div id="app">
        <graph :player="{{ $player}}" :opponent="{{$opponent}}"></graph>
    </div>
@endsection

then there the graph component

<template>
    <div>
        <h1>ciao</h1>
        <canvas width="600" height="400" ref="canvas"></canvas>
        <div class="legend" v-html="legend"></div>
    </div>
</template>

<script>

    import Chart from 'chart.js';

    export default{
        props: ['player', 'opponent'],
        data(){
            return {
                legend: ''
            }
        },
        mounted(){
            var data = {
                labels: ['Wins'],
                datasets: [
                    {
                        label: this.player.name,
                        backgroundColor: [
                            'rgba(255, 99, 132, 0.2)'],
                        borderColor: [
                            'rgba(255,99,132,1)',
                        ],
                        data: [this.player.data]
                    },
                    {
                        label: this.opponent.name,
                        backgroundColor: [
                            'rgba(255, 99, 132, 0.2)'],
                        borderColor: [
                            'rgba(255,99,132,1)',
                        ],
                        data: [this.opponent.data]
                    }
                ],

            }
            const chart = new Chart(
                    this.$refs.canvas.getContext("2d"),
                    {type: 'bar', data: this.data});
            this.legend = chart.generateLegend();
        },
        computed: {},
        methods: {
            buy(){
                console.log('buy');
            }
        }

    }

</script>

But I can see the graph without the correct dimensions and without data,event if with another approach ( the first mentioned before) the component works great.

I ask for anyone to anyone.

christianTorino started a new conversation Redirect()->intented() Problem

Hello dears, i have a problem with this method. When i use this for authenticate user in order to confirm an action (like booking,ask details or others).

The problem is that in the specific case i use i have this behaviuor:

  1. search view ( input fields)

  2. search results ( url + the above fields)

  3. action ( if auth perform, if not login page and next perform)

  4. this is all ok but, when i press back button, in the case of user already authenticated it goes back to search results page, in the other case, the back button goes to the homepage.

Thank you so much.

I ecountered into a problem that i cannot figure out. The problem is that the countries list is seen by blade like an empty property.

I follow exactly what Jeffery says but results are different. This is the resulting code in browser
