Replied to Is The Series "Let's Build A Forum" Still Viable With Laravel 6 Or 7?

Yes, of course. The whole concept is the same. There are some minor changes in Laravel 6/7 which doesn't affect that much.

Replied to In Google Search Please Click Here If You Are Not Redirected Within A Few Seconds.

There might be a middleware or something that doesn't let the Google robots crawl your website meaning when they want to access your website they get the "Please click here if you are not redirected within a few seconds." message.

Replied to Returning An Error In JSON Instead Of 500

@karolgil I didn't understand. Can you elaborate?

Activity icon

Replied to Returning An Error In JSON Instead Of 500

@karolgil You can create a folder called "errors" in tour "resources/views" directory of your Laravel application and you can simply create some blade files with the name of the error: For example, if you want a custom 500 error you have to create a file called "500.blade.php" in that directory (resources/views/errors). Then in that file, you can return whatever you would like to.

@neeraj1005 Yes but when you use double-quotes # is considered as a string, not as a symbol, so it will work perfectly.

@jeffreyway Amazing man. Just keep going. I have an idea that might be interesting. After taking the quiz while showing results, there could be a reference to the video in which the question was taught. It might be a cool thing, especially when it comes to complex questions such as "design patterns" or some conceptional ones.

Replied to Prevent Going Back After Logout (based On Session)

@harshareddy Don't forget the best answer button.

Activity icon

Replied to Prevent Going Back After Logout (based On Session)

@harshareddy When the user clicks the back button they're not actually logged in, its just the browser rendering what it has cached from previous page views. The user won't be able to navigate or interact with anything that requires them to be logged in because, to your application on the server, they're not authenticated.

When the user clicks the back button you have no control over that as it doesn't make a request to the server.

Using the back button, the only content they'll be able to view is that what they have already visited whilst logged in. If they try to access anything new, they'll make a new request to your application, your middleware will trigger and redirect them to the login page.

I guess if you really wanted to stop this behavior you could use some JavaScript and such to send an ajax request and check if the user is logged in that way, but quite useless from a security point of view.

  • You are providing ultra security for your files.

Cons can be:

  • More time for processing

Replied to Improve Image Quality And Removing Background

I was trying to use the GD PHP library and intervention Laravel package to it. But the image processing isn't done the way I want:

Image::make($file_path)->greyscale()->trim('top-right', null, 25, 50)->contrast(100)->contrast(100)->contrast(100)->contrast(100)->save(storage_path('app/private/') . $file->user_id . '/a' .$file->name);

I need to make a photo taken by mobile from a document to be something like a pure black and white document.
