@CRONIX - You're indeed right, it's not what I was thinking they were doing. I should've also noticed miles away it is a Wordpress website.

After viewing their HTML, I think I may have come up with a possible solution for what we want and what we have: I added a with id="readmore", and explode it afterwards. Then I just simply print everything until that div, followed by a "Read more" link. Do you think it's a decent solution? Or is there a better one?

@DANHORTON - I'd like to keep the HTML if it's possible. Unless there's another and better way to achieve what we need, of course! We're looking to something similar as Team Cherry does in their website http://teamcherry.com.au/

Zaverius started a new conversation Str_limit Truncates At The Wrong Point

Hello! First of all, I'm still learning Laravel so my apologies if my question may seem obvious.

I'm making a content manager for a project we're working on school, and I'm trying to limit the content of the news in the view. This content is saved as an HTML in the database. If str_limit truncates exactly on an image, it won't display the three dots and the rest of the website (particularly the footer) becomes visually buggy.

{!! str_limit($news->content, 550) !!}

What am I doing wrong?
