That works fine for laravel apps, which I've setup many times with Forge and had no issues. The problem is with a simple static site. The root would be / for the index.html. It's just a compiled Vue app using Firebase.
I get the phpinfo() page on the server IP. All I get after pointing the domain, adding the site to Forge, setting path to /, and deploying is an nginx 404. This was after a whole day of waiting.
I've setup multiple domains on my laravel server and have had no issues. The DNS will propagate after 20 to 30 minutes every time. It's funny that static sites are giving me trouble.
I've also setup multiple static servers on Digitalocean with Letsencrypt manually. I'm just having issues with Forge, but would love it to work.
Not as easy as that from what I've tried. It will configure the server for php and after tweaking the sites-enabled, it still gives a nginx 404. I did select "Standard HTML/Static" from the dropdown for the site and that didn't seem to make a difference.
