Started a new Conversation How To Use Scope For Intermediatble Table In Many To Many Relationships

Hi All

I am trying to use scope for retrieving column field name from many to many relationship's intermediate table.

Pivot Table fields are

  • quiz_id
  • batch_id
  • start_date
  • end_date
  • points

Model - Quizzes

 public function selectedBatch($batchId)
    {
        return $this->belongsToMany(\App\Batch::class , 'quizzes_batches',  'quiz_id', 'batch_id')
        ->using('App\QuizBatch')
        ->withPivot(
            'start_date', 'end_date', 'points')
        ->wherePivot('batch_id', $batchId)->firstOrFail();
    }

And the scope method is

    public function scopePoints($query)
    {
        return $query->pivot->points;
    }

I want to get points value (the column is in pivot table) from a particular batch (among all batches belongs to quiz).

Now when I try to retrieve following code, I am not getting any result

$quiz->selectedBatch($batchId)->marks();

Please guide me, where I am doing wrong.

Started a new Conversation Querying Polymorphic (Many To Many) Relationships

Hi All,

Please help me.

I am trying to query from polymorphic pivot table

I have following models

Question - MorphedbyMany

Grade Subject Chapter Exam Topic

A pivot table is created for this relationships names qstables.

The Question Model is

class Question extends Model
{

   public function grades()
    {
        return $this->morphedByMany('App\Grade', 'qstable');
    }

    public function subjects()
    {
        return $this->morphedByMany('App\Subject', 'qstable');
    }

    public function chapters()
    {
        return $this->morphedByMany('App\Chapter', 'qstable');
    }

    public function exams()
    {
        return $this->morphedByMany('App\Exam', 'qstable');
    }

    public function topics()
    {
        return $this->morphedByMany('App\Topic', 'qstable');
    }

}

The Other Models are

class Grade extends Model
{
    public function questions()
    {
        return $this->morphToMany('App\Question', 'qstable');
    }
}

class  Subject extends Model
{
    public function questions()
    {
        return $this->morphToMany('App\Question', 'qstable');
    }
}

class Chapter extends Model
{
    public function questions()
    {
        return $this->morphToMany('App\Question', 'qstable');
    }
}

class Exam extends Model
{
    public function questions()
    {
        return $this->morphToMany('App\Question', 'qstable');
    }
}

class Topic extends Model
{
    public function questions()
    {
        return $this->morphToMany('App\Question', 'qstable');
    }
}

I want to query results for questions from multiple models like below..

Find questions where Grade is 'A', Subject is 'B', Chapter is 'C', Topic is 'D' and Exam is 'E' .

Kindly guide me. Thanks
