CodingRanger started a new conversation How To Convert A Table Full String Type Dates To Laravel Timestamps

Currently, I got a table with lots of dates in a string type column (from an older project), I want to somehow convert them to timestamps, and to make matters worst the date format of that column are in 3 formats: "2015-05-28" and "'01/23/2017'" and "08/07/2018 Tuesday".

Is there a way to convert this dates and the column to timestamps?

CodingRanger left a reply on Laravel And PHPStorm: Still Getting Not Found Methods After Installing Laravel-ide-helper

Look like the Laravel plugin was activated already, it didn't fix the issue but was able to turn off the multiple definitions thing found it in PhpStorm 2018, at Settings | Editor | Inspections | PHP | Undefined | Undefined class | Don't report multiple class declaration potential problems (it's a checkbox in right part)

CodingRanger started a new conversation Laravel And PHPStorm: Still Getting Not Found After Installing Laravel-ide-helper

I currently trying to Learn Laravel and with Phpstorm I have an issue were PHP code hinting doesn't see some methods and it giving me warning on those and they also not show up in code hinting.

I also get annoying warnings on some classes "multiple definitions exist".

Some methods it doesn't pick up for example in migrations "unsigned()" and "references()".

I'm using the last released version of PHPStorm (2018.2) Using the Laravel plugin I installed barryvdh/laravel-ide-helper and did run the 2 commands to generate both ".phpstorm.meta.php" and "_ide_helper.php"

I think I'm missing something but not sure what?

CodingRanger started a new conversation Laravel Date And Time Validation

Here is what I'm trying to figure out. I'm trying to make a pickup/delivery form.

It will have two date/time fields one for pickup and one for delivery

I want to validate that the pickup date is today or after today and the time is set within the pickup window of let's say 5pm - 10pm and of course throw an error if that form is sent less than 30 minutes before 10 pm with the date of today.

And with the delivery date, I want to make sure it's after the pickup date and set within the same time window. Next, to that, I also want to make sure the time and date is at least 24 hours after the pickup.

I know it sounds like a lot, I hope anyone got any tips on how to start writing this validation, I'm still really new to Laravel.

CodingRanger started a new conversation I Want To Learn Laravel But Lots Of Videos Seem Outdated

So my main reason for coming to Laracast is to learn Laravel, but I find my self, hunting around for an updated starter Laravel 5.6 series. the skills tell me to go from "Laravel 5.4 From Scratch" but I feel like I may learn to do a lot of things the old way and have to unlearn it and relearn it till Laravel 5.6. Also, I would love to use Vue with Laravel for forms and so on. Learn how to make an admin with user roles and all those things but I have a hard time finding the videos I need to watch. The Forum one was a bit above my skill level.

Please help!

CodingRanger started a new conversation How To Use Laravel And WordPress On The Same Domain

In short: I'm working on a project where the "client" already got a WordPress site installed on the main server, with one of those expensive SSL certs. without wildcard support.

I want to use the Larval API function (https://sampleurl.com/api) and setup the client part of the app in a folder (https://sampleurl.com/app) and a Laravel powered admin interface at (https://sampleurl.com/admin) while WordPress need to keeps running at https://sampleurl.com

I hope someone is able to tell me how to do this.
