3Descape left a reply on Custom 413 PostTooLarge Exeption Handling

Thank you very, very much, this fixed it for me! Toyed around with these already, but seems like I did something wrong. Thank you very much again!

3Descape left a reply on Custom 413 PostTooLarge Exeption Handling

Thank you very much for this tip, I am going to use this as a fallback solution! Still I would like to use the custom exeption handling as I have several file uplouds in my application and this would be a way to handle it globally and not per controller/fileuploud. Also it worked in the past, so there has to be a solution to this problem..

3Descape left a reply on Custom 413 PostTooLarge Exeption Handling

First of all thank you for answering. I'm fine with the exeption and I don't wan't to increase post_max_size or uploud_max_filesize. Even if I do so, I still need to handle the error, because I can't allow the user to uploud a file of any size.

The result I would like to get is that only my custom json object is included in the response, so I can handle the error on the client side with vue. Maybe someone has an idea what part of the laravel application or xampp is rendering the first error part and whether it is possible to disable it or not. Thx in advance!

3Descape started a new conversation Custom 413 PostTooLarge Exeption Handling

Hellor everybody!

When posting a too large file on my Xampp testserver I get an expected PostTooLargeException. I use custom exeption handling, so the error is formatted in json and I can display a custom message in german, that I then output in my vue component.

Handler.php in render function:

        if ($exception instanceof PostTooLargeException) {
            $message = ['errors' => ['file' => ['Datei ist zu groß.']]];
            return response()->json($message, 413);
        }

Now my problem: The response not only contains my json error object, but also a message I can't get rid of:

Warning: POST Content-Length of 48764135 bytes exceeds the limit of 10485760 bytes in Unknown on line 0
{"errors":{"file":["Datei ist zu gro\u00df."]}}

Where the "Warning: POST Content-Length..." is the unwanted part of the response.

Maybe someone knows whether Laravel puts this in the response or if I have to disable this somewhere in my Xampp config files. Anyway, any help is much appreciated!

Hello, I am trying to make use of the Adldap package and running into the errror where I only get the message "these credentials do not match our records" when I am trying to log in. The annoying thing is that Adldap::auth()->attempt('euler', 'password') returns true . hello everybody. I am totally new to setting up a server with laravel. I have bought a server from digitalocean with lemp and can't get it to work, as I always get a 404 Not found with my laravel project, while the default index.html works fine. I have to note though, that I updated php to 7.1 with those commands https://ayesh.me/Ubuntu-PHP-7.1. Maybe someone can provide a step by step introduction on how to set up a server with digital ocean and laravel 5.5. I would be so grateful after more than 6 hours of frustration.

In the var/log/nginx/error.log file I saw the following error: 2017/10/05 19:37:57 [crit] 32391#32391: *1 connect() to unix:/run/php/php7.0-fpm.sock failed (2: No such file or directory) while connecting to upstream, client: 62.46.56.193, server: localhost, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fas$

3Descape left a reply on [Vue Warn]: Failed To Mount Component: Template Or Render Function Not Defined.

@ejdelmonico You are my hero! Wow, never would have thought of that one.. It's weard though, as this sould work I guess... Do you think it's worth reporting? Anf if yes, is it a vue-template-compiler issue or Laravel one.

3Descape left a reply on [Vue Warn]: Failed To Mount Component: Template Or Render Function Not Defined.

@ejdelmonico I have Vue 2.4.4 @sutherland I do have it in my admin.js .. I don't include it in the bootstrap.js as I want my frontend to not have vue included but the rest of the dependencies like jquery for bootstrap and that stuff.. @PaulClarke normally we should not have to install anything like this.. also reading through the package description: "only need it if you are writing build tools with very specific needs".

I would love to see if anybody can get vue to run on latest Laravel to check, whether it only occures here, or if it is something worth reporting.

3Descape left a reply on [Vue Warn]: Failed To Mount Component: Template Or Render Function Not Defined.

installing it fresh didn't work either.. I think I will revert to the last working commit for now, although I would really love to know what causes this.. when I do npm update, it also updates [email protected] where it has been 1.0 according to my package.json in an earlier commit.. Might that be the reason?

3Descape left a reply on Nested Relationship "contains" Check

Thank you very much for your answear, but after rethinking my approach and starting with a fresh mind I found a simpler solution.

My basic structure is that I have a Permission model. Each Permission belongsToMany Role(s), which belongsToMany User(s).

Now I moved my hasPermission function into the User model and there I use the following, to check if a user has a certain permission:

    public function hasPermission($permission)
    {
        $contains = $this->roles()
        ->with('permissions')
        ->get()
        ->map(function($item) use ($permission){
            return $item->permissions
            ->contains('name', $permission);
        });

        return !! in_array(true, $contains->toArray());
    }

I hope this helps if anyone in the future has the same problem.

3Descape started a new conversation Nested Relationsship Contains Check

Hello everybody. I am trying to check if the name field of an eagar loaded collection contains a certain string.

So first I'm loading all the roles assigned to a user and all the permissions for each role.

$roles = Auth::user()->roles()->with('permissions')->get();

//output
   {
        "id": 1,
        "name": "admin",
        "label": "Admin is cool",
        "created_at": "2017-07-13 10:39:37",
        "updated_at": "2017-07-13 10:39:37",
        "pivot": {
            "user_id": 1,
            "role_id": 1
        },
        "permissions": [
            {
                "id": 1,
                "name": "create_event",
                "label": "Can create an event",
                "created_at": "2017-07-13 10:39:37",
                "updated_at": "2017-07-13 10:39:37",
                "pivot": {
                    "role_id": 1,
                    "permission_id": 1
                }
            }
        ]
    }

]

Now I'm trying to check, whether the roles assigned with the user contain a permission, that has the name 'create_event'.. The "contains" method doesn't seem to work on eager loaded relationships and I could't achive this with a foreach loop. But I'm not the most experienced user, so maybe someone can help me out ;D
